Fashion has been an integral part of Apoorva’s life for as long as she can remember. She grew up in Arani, a South Indian town known as the “Silk City,” surrounded by the artistry of silk weaving and the quiet beauty of handmade textiles. From an early age, she developed an appreciation for craftsmanship and fabric, shaped by her parents’ belief that style is a reflection of confidence and individuality.

After getting her master's degree in sustainable architecture in the UK, Apoorva’s interest in fashion deepened. She found herself drawn to India’s rich tradition of handloom and sustainable design, and began experimenting; customising her own clothes, collaborating with local artisans, and co-designing with heritage-focused brands. The positive response to her distinctive style, coupled with a growing desire to create intentionally, sparked the beginnings of Meenal.

Founded on the values of simplicity, ease, and self-expression, Meenal creates thoughtfully made clothing for women. Each piece is crafted in small batches using handwoven fabrics, celebrating both feminine energy and the skilled artisans behind the process. Guided by tradition and designed for movement, Meenal is a quiet tribute to the power of clothing that feels as good as it looks.
